We are thrilled to share that the Secondary College of Languages was among the distinguished awardees at the 2024 Public Education Awards held at Sydney Town Hall. This prestigious event celebrated the outstanding achievements of public school teachers, students, employees, parents, and advocates from across NSW.

At the awards ceremony held at Sydney Town Hall on 5 August, our College's remarkable accomplishments in enhancing teaching and learning in languages were recognised with the prestigious Secretary’s School Achievement Award. We are proud to be part of a community that values excellence in education and is dedicated to creating meaningful learning opportunities for all students.

The Secretary’s School Achievement Award is a significant accolade presented to schools that have demonstrated excellence in creating a sustainable learning environment through innovative whole-of-school projects. This award acknowledges schools that have made remarkable progress in improving learning outcomes and opportunities, fostering excellence in student learning, providing equal learning opportunities for all students, and demonstrating community leadership.

The Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Languages Project at the College is a testament to our commitment to pedagogical excellence. Through collaborative inquiry and professional development, our dedicated teachers developed engaging programs that are aligned with the NSW Education Standards Authority’s (NESA's) Modern Languages K-10 syllabus and the Collaborative Curriculum and Assessment Framework for Languages (CCAFL) syllabuses for 23 languages. This initiative fostered a culture of collaboration, enhancing teaching quality and student learning experiences across our College campuses.

We extend our gratitude to our hardworking staff, dedicated students, and supportive community for their contributions to our success. This award showcases the collective effort and commitment of everyone involved in making Secondary College of Languages a thriving hub of language learning and cultural understanding.

As we continue on our journey of educational excellence, we look forward to further enhancing teaching and learning experiences for our students and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes lifelong learning.
