Our policies and reports help families understand how our College operates and how we support every student to succeed. As a NSW Department of Education school, we follow the department’s policies and frameworks while also developing our own guidelines to meet the needs of our diverse learning community.
Our policies show how we work together with students, parents, and communities to create a positive and culturally rich learning experience.
Annual school report
Each year, we highlight our achievement and progress in the Annual School Report. It gives families a clear picture of how we are performing as a College and how we continue to improve our teaching and learning programs. The report reflects our commitment to openness, accountability and continuous improvement.
The report includes:
- our vision, goals and improvement strategies
- student achievement and academic progress
- what we’re doing well and where we’re improving
- key highlights and milestones across Campuses
- how we've addressed challenges and planning for the future.
School excellence plan
Our School Excellence Plan (SEP) is a working document that shows our priorities in learning, teaching and leadership. It explains our focus areas for improvement and how we plan to get there. We write our SEP with the help of our staff, students and communities so it reflects our shared priorities.
Students' use of mobile phones
We will follow the department's policy regarding mobile phone usage. To create a better learning and wellbeing environment, we ask our students to turn off and store their mobile phones safely in their bags for the entire school day, including breaks. This approach will help reduce distractions, ensuring our students can focus on learning and social growth in a safe and supportive setting.
College-specific policies
In addition to the department’s policies, SCL has developed its own frameworks to guide how we support our unique multi-campus and diverse student community.
